The Brave One – Movie Review

with 3 comments

It’s one of the movies that will make you feel the pain and indulge yourself. I love these kind of movies. It’s practical, meaning, it might have happened to you or may happen to you. I must say, if it wasn’t for Jodie Foster it would have been a movie that we might have pondered about after watching it. Jodie Foster plays Erica Bain who works for a radio company in New York. She looses her husband in a fight with goons. She becomes critically injured and she re-lives again. Even though the movie runs at a slow pace, the commiseration for Erica makes the movie moving forward.  After losing her husband she becomes more vigilant in her activities and she starts to take things in her own hand. Being drawn into a new world, she starts to kill some thugs and even attempts to crack down some of the thugs who killed her husband. Detective Sean Mercer comes to play a important role who starts to find clues about the killing. He becomes more inclined towards her and they get into a sync and thereafter later in the movie he finds her as the culprit behind the killing. How Erica comes free from this is the remaining part of the story.

Jodie’s performance brings more marks to this movie. A movie for patient audience.

  2. Foster did a pretty good job in Brave One… a good demonstration of the power of fear; it felt like the cop compromised his convictions at the end, tho
